Getting started

  1. ages

Climbing is an exciting and rewarding activity for people of all ages. However, TCW

requires participants be at least 6 years of age. The majority of our cliental is 19-35.

  1. Waiver

Everyone must sign The Climbing Wall’s Risk and Release Form prior to entering the

climbing areas. Climbers under 18 years of age must have the release form signed by their

     parent or court appointed guardian.

  1. Drop-ins

Regardless of experience level, anyone ages 6 and above who has completed a waiver

(see above), can come in any time during operational hours to climb in our

Bouldering Area. Everyone receives a short orientation prior to climbing.

  1. Belaying

Belaying is managing the rope for a climber. The belayer or person belaying, is

responsible for the climber’s safety; keeping tension in the rope, stopping a climber if they

fall, and safely lowering them to the ground once the climb is finished. This skill is essential

for climbing in our Top-roping Area. Anyone ages 16 and above can learn to belay in our

Safety & Belay Class. If you are already a proficient belayer, you can test out of our class

     through our Experienced Certification.

There are several classes to introduce you to climbing as well as advance your skill level.

From our Safety & Belay Class and Lead Classes to customized Private Lessons, we are

sure to have something to fulfill your needs.
